When should I book my newborn session? 

Most clients book in the second trimester, but it's never too early to get on my schedule. I only take a limited number of sessions per month to allow for flexibility in the schedule. We will set a tentative date based on your due date and move it if we need to depending on babies arrival. 

When is the best time for our newborn session? 
Newborn sessions are scheduled between 6-14 days old. It's best to get babies in the studio the first two weeks when babies are sleepiest and easiest to pose in squishy womb like positions. 

Where do newborn sessions take place? 
Newborn sessions will take place at my beautiful photography studio in Olathe. When you arrive I will take baby and you are free to turn on the tv, enjoy a snack, and just sit back and relax. I know getting out the door with a newborn can be stressful, it's very important to me that once my clients arrive to the studio the experience is nothing but relaxing and stress-free!

How long does the session normally last? 
Newborn sessions usually last around 3 -4 hours. I allow plenty of time for feedings or snuggle breaks for baby if needed. Each session and baby is unique so I follow their pace and take great care and time perfectly each little detail of your newborn photos. 
 
How many outfits/props should I bring for the baby? 
The answer is none! I have everything that we need to create a beautiful styled session for your baby. My studio is full of adorable accessories, outfits, and props just waiting for your baby. Before your session you will receive a questionnaire form to fill out. That helps me plan for your uniquely styled session ahead of time. Any colors, or specific poses/props you would like to use will be ready to go when you arrive. 
 
What should I wear for parent/sibling photos? 
I recommend keeping it simple. Neutral and muted tones with minimal pattern design photograph beautifully. Moms look fantastic in anything from a simple tank top to a neutral colored maxi dress. Dads - a simple v-neck t-shirt in a neutral color always looks great. Similar styles for siblings are great as well. I am available to help style your outfits before the session as well! 

Do you offer payment plans? 
YES! Newborn photography is an investment that will last a life time. We can set up payment plans through paypal. Or we accept cash, check, or credit the day of your viewing appt. 

Do you offer printed products and digital files? 
Absolutely. Tara Miesner Photography is a full service photography studio. That means that I walk clients through the process from beginning to end and deliver a beautiful products for you to walk away with. I feel passionately that everyone should PRINT YOUR IMAGES. How often do those USB's or digital files just get stored away and forgotten about? I offer collections that include beautiful heirloom artwork as well as your digital files.
